Bakersfield, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Stockdale Hwy.

Bakersfield, CA (June 26, 2024) – A bicyclist was killed in a collision that took place on Tuesday night, June 25th. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Stockdale Highway near the intersection with Allen Road.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the bicyclist was traveling southbound in a crosswalk while the vehicle was traveling westbound. As the car arrived at the intersection, it struck the bicyclist, resulting in severe injuries. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released. The driver stopped at the scene and spoke with police. There is no information on whether any charges are expected to be filed. The incident remains under investigation at this time. No further information is available.
