Newhall, CA – One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Car Accident on 5 Fwy.

Newhall, CA (May 27, 2024) – The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly car accident in Newhall on Sunday, May 26th. The crash took place around 2:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway, near the 14 Freeway.

According to Bernard Peters of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, multiple cars were involved in the collision. One person was pronounced dead at the accident scene while a second victim was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. The current condition of the victim is not known. Police did not immediately release any details regarding the cause of the crash and no one involved has been identified. The northbound lanes of the Freeway were closed until approximately 7:00 a.m. but later reopened. The crash remains under investigation. There is no additional information available.
